UFC 313 is taking place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 8th. The headline fight will be Alex Pereira defending his light heavyweight title vs Magomed Ankalaev. The co-main event promises to be an action-packed lightweight fight between fan favorites Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker.
Both the main event and co-main fights are highly anticipated fights that should bring in a lot of viewers. Below, we will look at the early betting odds for both fights from a popular online sportsbook. If you’re interested in betting on the UFC, I would check out BetOnIt.org. They have a variety of UFC betting guides, including a page outlining how to bet on the UFC from Texas, among others.
Alex Pereira vs Magomed Ankalaev
The lightweight title fight is expected to be a very close affair. The fight is close to a pick’em with Alex Pereira the slight favorite with odds of -120, while Anakalaev has odds of +100 to pull off the minor upset.
Alex Pereira has won five straight fights since moving up to light heavyweight, including four title fight wins in a row by finish. Pereira is considered one of the most dangerous fighters ever to compete in the UFC, and he will look to add to his legacy with another finish at UFC 313.
The challenger, Magomed Ankalaev is 19-1-1 in his MMA career and he’s coming off of win over Johnny Walker (knockout) and Aleksandar Rakic (decision) in 2024 to earn this title shot.
Justin Gaethje vs Dan Hooker
Justin Gaethje is considered one of the most action-packed fighters in the UFC and Dan Hooker is the perfect dance partner for an exciting fight.
Gaethje is coming off a knockout loss to Max Holloway in a symbolic BMF title fight. Before that loss Gaethje had bounced back from a title shot loss to Charles Oliviera with wins over Rafael Fiziev and Dustin Poirier. Gaethje is still considered one of the best lightweight fighters in the world and a win over Hooker would do a lot to get Gaethje back to a title shot.
Dan Hooker is another fighter known for leaving everything in the cage. Hooker is having a bit of a career resurgence right now riding a three-fight winning streak that includes victories over Claudio Puelles, Jalin Turner, and Matesuz Gamrot. A win over a legend like Gaethje would also put Hooker on the short list of potential title contenders in the lightweight division.
