The Department of State has announced the White House’s endorsement of Ambassador William E. Grayson as the Commissioner General for the USA Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. This appointment marks the continuation of a proud tradition in which civic-minded leaders represent America in promoting foreign policy initiatives at significant global events.
Ambassador Grayson brings an extensive background to his new role. He is currently on leave from RBC Wealth Management, where he has served as Managing Director and Founder of The Grayson Group. His career includes notable positions, such as National Director for Family Offices at Alliance Bernstein, where he played a crucial role in developing the firm’s family office practice, aiding numerous families across the nation. His experience also includes senior roles at J.P. Morgan and BancAmerica Securities.
In addition to his financial expertise, Ambassador Grayson is a seasoned legal professional, having spent ten years as a litigator and general counsel in the corporate and government sectors. His experience spans the administrations of five U.S. presidents and various esteemed roles within the Department of the Army, the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships, and as Chairman of the Presidio Trust. He is also an active participant in numerous investment committees and boards, including the University of Hawaii Foundation and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
World Expos, often referred to as World’s Fairs in the United States, serve as exceptional platforms to highlight American innovation, business acumen, and global leadership. Expo 2025 Osaka commenced on April 13, 2025, and is anticipated to attract 28 million visitors during its six-month run. The USA Pavilion, which has already welcomed over 400,000 guests, features engaging exhibits centered around U.S. exchange opportunities, travel, and leadership in innovation and space exploration. The pavilion is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. until the end of the Expo on October 13, 2025.
