A groundbreaking report highlighting the realities, challenges, contributions, and opportunities of the Latino community in Georgia is set to be released at the 10th Annual Latino Summit on November 19 at the Norcross Cultural Arts & Community Center. Co-hosted by the Latino Community Fund (LCF Georgia) and Ser Familia, this Summit stands as the premier Latino-focused event in the state, dedicated to capacity building, learning, peer support, and fostering dialogue among Georgia’s leaders in government, philanthropy, education, business, and social sectors. Its mission is to support one of the fastest-growing and most vibrant and diverse communities in the nation: Latinos.
With impressive growth of over 37% in the past decade—surpassing national averages—91% of Latino households report income, with an average age of 26 and a GDP of $52.2 billion (comparable to the entire economic output of Wyoming or Vermont). The contributions of Latinos are significant across various economic sectors and are vital for shaping the state’s present and future.
The “State of the Latino Community in Georgia Report” serves as an essential resource that bridges the gap between perception and reality, combining quantitative data with personal stories drawn from established data sets, key informant interviews, and focus groups. It encourages stakeholders to work together to create opportunities that foster positive impacts and eliminate barriers hindering self-sufficiency, wealth building, well-being, and educational success.
This report is made possible through the dedication and collaboration of the Latino Community Fund (LCF Georgia), the Latinx Alliance, Ser Familia, Neighborhood Nexus, and 39 individuals interviewed from 17 Latino-led and serving community organizations, along with 11 artists and creators from across the state. The report will be available for download starting November 19th.
