Science Interactive‘s Biology curriculum has earned the Quality Matters (QM) Certification following a rigorous review process. The QM Certification Mark is the internationally recognized symbol of online and blended course design quality.
This is the second discipline in Science Interactive’s robust portfolio to receive the QM Certification. “Along with our Anatomy & Physiology curriculum, we are excited to add this certification to our Biology lessons and continue delivering on our mission of providing quality science curriculum and hands-on learning to remote students,” said Tim Loomer, CEO of Science Interactive. “We look forward to adding the QM Certification to more disciplines throughout the year. The certification is the result of Science Interactive’s dedication to continuous improvement, including the innovative work of our team of Ph.D. scientists, instructional designers, and staff involved with developing our rigorous lessons,” said Loomer.
“The Quality Matters Official Review provided the opportunity to reflect on this course and examine it from the learner perspective. From accessibility to learner engagement to assessments, the review used internationally recognized Standards and best practices to examine critical course components related to the learner experience and ultimately learner success,” said Caitlin Runne-Janczy, Science Interactive’s Chief Academic Officer.
The QM Official Review provided independent validation of the quality, learner-focused course design found in Science Interactive’s Biology curriculum. Reviews are conducted by QM-Certified Reviewers and use the Quality Matters Rubric and associated Standards, which are based on research and best practices. A course earns the QM Certification Mark once it meets QM Rubric Standards at the 85% threshold or better and meets all Essential Standards.
