Mending Kids, a small nonprofit organization dedicated to providing life-changing surgeries to children in need globally, has achieved an incredible milestone in its 18-year history – mending over 5,000 children. This accomplishment is a testament to the tireless efforts of Mending Kids’ staff, volunteer medical teams, and non-medical volunteers, as well as the generous support of its board of directors, donors, and partners around the world.
Mending Kids’ impact goes beyond the 5,000 children who have been mended. Through 157 overseas surgical missions and thousands of children from 72 countries helped through its Individual Surgical Care program, Mending Kids has given children access to care that would otherwise not be available to them. By supporting underserved medical communities, recruiting world-class surgical teams, and building relationships with medical companies, Mending Kids has carved out a valuable niche in the global health landscape.
“We can’t save the world alone, but at Mending Kids, our ability to stretch every dollar raised, adapt to the challenges presented by each mission, build trust, and incubate partnerships enables us to have a greater impact than our size would suggest,” said Isabelle Fox, Executive Director.
