Founder and Creative Director of Fashion Designers of Latin America (FDLA), Albania Rosario, graces the cover of this year’s Career Mastered Magazine “Double-Take” Issue. Arriving this September, just in time for Fashion Month, the magazine thrives on advancing women’s global leadership and features women who have mastered their careers showing their iconic presence and power.
The feature is written by Tisha Hammond, who highlights Albania’s walk from humble beginnings to New York Fashion Week. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Albania uprooted and moved to New York City with her parents in 2000. She didn’t speak English, yet Albania began to pursue her academic career at CUNY Hunter College. Now as a successful entrepreneur, she runs multiple businesses, including bringing Latin American designers to the world stage at New York Fashion Week and around the world. In addition to a range of talent from Latin America, her FDLA platform has attracted a plethora of talent, including designers such as Michael Costello, Marc Bouwer, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, and most recently, Carolina Herrera.
In the magazine feature, Albania talks about the competitiveness of the Fashion Industry. She states, “go further, go higher, go bigger” is something her mother taught her. “I might not have become a model, but I hire hundreds of models every year because I know there’s a bigger picture.” Publisher & CEO of Career Mastered Magazine, Dr. Lisa J. Lindsay Wicker, says, “Albania was chosen for the cover of this special edition during Fashion Month because of her perseverance, inspiration, and because of the encourager she’s become in the Fashion Industry for many other women pursuing their dreams. The double-take issue also features content and insights for women to accelerate their entrepreneurship. Women across the globe can read more about Albania in this issue but have the opportunity to meet her in person at her FDLA Shows on September 8-9 in New York City.
