The Hybrid Era of Filmmaking and the Team Behind It

Everyone loves watching movies and going through a character’s journey. We always think about what happens next, how the story will unfold, and how we relate to different aspects of the film. It is extremely exciting to escape reality with movies, and it is even more fun when we think about an actor’s process. Actors have a specific way of finding their given character and adding more to it with their own characteristics and approach to the script. There are so many different ways each person does this, but it begins by asking questions about the story and how a character deals with the issues they face in the script. They may begin by asking what their character would do, or even begin thinking and behaving like their character in normal settings outside production to adapt. Thinking of an actor while watching a movie and beginning to think about their process is important in appreciating their work.

Working with Production

A unique part of being an actor is getting to work with numbers of talented cast and crew that will have an impact on the film. Many actors recall how enjoyable it is for them to coordinate their scenes with camera crew, lighting department crew, directors and other actors which enhances the overall experience of being part of a film. It is also interesting as actors explore their set during filming, and even when the camera is off. One may think how incredible it must be to be part of a film with an extraordinary set, but it is also notable to think of how much of an effect the entire production must have on an actor, even months after they’ve finished filming. Therefore, they have such a strong connection to their films.

Being Part of a Bigger Project

Many people, including actors, are always praised for their hard work and immense skill as it is visually displayed and appreciated by countless audiences. There is a story that brings the world of a film together and different departments work together to make it happen. There is usually a bigger message in a movie or show that glues the whole team together, and those messages can have a long-lasting effect on many groups. This happens especially if it is a foreign film, or a film targeted to raise awareness on an important issue. Being an actor also means being part of that bigger project that touches many people depending on what the moral of the story is. Many actors recall how projects have stuck with them for a lifetime because of how emotional and intense it has been, all in a good way.

To The Girl That Looks Like Me

To elaborate on all the excellent aspects of film and acting, there is one short film you cannot miss. To The Girl That Looks Like Me is a film directed by Ewurakua Dawson-Amoah and it stars Tiana Walsh, an incredible actress changing the game with her authenticity and unique approach to acting. The short film was nominated for an Oscar and was widely appreciated by a large audience. The film is an artistic approach to celebrating black women and raising their voices in a world that hinders their abilities. Nevertheless, they strive and continue self-love and all other threads of cultural and poetic quality that allows them to be free and appreciated. The film also focuses on dance, folklore, modern culture, and spirituality. This film is an important piece that raises awareness on important groups of people and lifts them up by bringing forth characters of great strength and originality.

Tiana Walsh

Tiana Walsh gave an impeccable performance in the short film To The Girl That Looks Like Me. She plays the character Nimdee, and this role was chosen for her specifically by the director. Ewurakua Dawson-Amoah has worked closely with Tiana on another film called Gold Token, in which she collaborated with their remarkable cast and crew in creating a beautiful film with an invaluable message. The pair are excellent in a team, and Tiana has been working fiercely with many directors in bringing important stories to life. Lately, she has starred in a music video directed by Sophie Wise and Dan Bink for Peter Wise’s song Neutral. Tiana’s passion extends from music videos to films, to beauty campaigns. She has also been published by Vogue Italia’s website and has been the face of other campaigns such as Pent Makeup and Waverless.

Tiana Walsh acting has been widely praised and therefore, she will be starring in a number of projects that will be released in the coming months. She also enjoyed performing a role in Warriors which was very gratifying for her to experience a different set design. As of late, she will soon be seen in a film named Bagged 2 and a visual effects series named Going Through Changes. The new projects speak to her on a deep level of emotional intensity in which she truly shows the layers of acting methods. Tiana currently lives in New York City.
