On April 1, RIGID Constructors raised over $25,000 for the Gonzales Area Foundation at a fundraising event at The Great River Road Museum in Gonzales, Louisiana. The funds will go to the local Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center to further cancer care in Ascension Parish.
“It was an honor to help contribute to a great cause and help raise funding for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Gonzales,” RIGID Constructors COO Mickey Suire said. During the live auction, Suire and RIGID Constructors bid on multiple items, with the last winning bid pushing the Gonzales Area Foundation over their announced goal to surpass its cumulative $1 million mark for the Cancer Center.
“It never ceases to amaze me how people in the community always come through each year,” DeEtte De Armond, Gonzales Area Foundation founder and advisory board member, and the gala chair, said. “We are so grateful for RIGID Constructors’ generous donation that allowed us to surpass our goal of $1 million in funds raised to support excellent cancer care right here in our community.”
“RIGID Constructors is proud to have supported the Gonzales Area Foundation, and Mary Bird Perkins in their fight against cancer,” said RIGID Constructors CEO Cody Fortier, whose family has been directly affected by cancer. “I look forward to personally speaking with Dr. Fontenot, Ph.D., MBA, president and CEO, Mary Bird Perkins, about the expansion of Mary Bird Perkins into the Acadiana region.”
Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center recently announced a new location in Opelousas, Louisiana, part of RIGID Constructors’ service area.
